Here's the link to my tutorial for adding a crocheted edging to any hemstitched article.  Burp cloths, receiving blankets and bibs all can have the hand crafted look through this simple method.  It's a quick gift that any new mother will appreciate.  Hemstitched articles ready for you to embellish are available at many fabric and craft stores.

Two more projects finished for the Ravellenic Games! A small reticule and Carl's scratch mitts. I'm hoping to finish Miss Price's M3 Gloves tonight and get started on the snake mittens for my boys.

I spent this afternoon fixing my maternal family tree in preparation to continue researching her paternal grandfather's line.  Ive been told over and over that it's all taken care of, but no one is sharing the results. That means I'll have to risk the possibility I'm going back over that what's already finished.

Small Crocheted bag with left over bamboo thread doubled and beads added. Crocheting with beads just isn't my favorite thing to do!

Let the Ravellenic and Olympic games begin!

I will first be finishing several projects including three sets of fingerless gloves and a shawl. I hope to be done with at least two items tonight.

I also am trying to figure out how to embellish a hand fan I purchased at World Market so it looks for feminine. It's for a Jane Austen Heroine Swap. I'd like to add lace, ribbons and perhaps a flower.

Less than 24 hours until the Opening Ceremonies of the 2012 Summer Olympics. I joined a Ravellenic Team: Team Jane Austen's Girls 2012. I'm planning to make mittens for the duration of the games. Some are for gifts, some for charity through Bev's Mitt-A-Thon

I also have an alter-ego for the challenge: Fanny Price from Mansfield Park.

Here are a of the patterns I plan to use:
Fresco Mitts,
Snowmen Mittens
Snake Cable Mittens
Little Owl Mitts
Cruiser
Baby Fans Mitts
Scottish Fleet Mittens
Textured Fingerless Mitts

and one more pair of my adapted Small Lace Fingerless Gloves.

Of  course, I have to make my DH a pair of TARDIS Fingerless Gloves, adding a gusset and thumb. He literally drooled over the TARDIS HAT I made for a swap.

Happy Pioneer Day all! I am so grateful to all those who sacrificed so much to create this great state, particularly my ancestors who were among those who braved the elements and trecked across the plains to join the Saints in the Great Salt Lake Valley. I am proud to be descended from such courageous people.
